Provider Standards
Effective September 9, 2026 · Version 1.0
These standards apply to every business and provider profile on TownSwoop and supplement the Terms of Service.
1. Authority, licensing, and insurance
Only create or manage a business you are authorized to represent. Maintain every license, permit, certification, registration, insurance policy, and staff authorization required for the services and places you serve. Do not imply that TownSwoop licenses, employs, endorses, or guarantees your business.
2. Accurate listings
Keep your business name, category, photos, descriptions, qualifications, prices, duration, availability, staff, location or service area, accessibility information, and cancellation terms current. Disclose material fees before confirmation. Do not use misleading claims, copied portfolios, fake reviews, or another party’s identity or intellectual property.
On-site providers must supply a usable address or, where lookup is inadequate, an accurate entrance pin. Mobile and online providers must use a truthful service area and radius. Do not publish a private home address unless customers receive service there.
3. Scheduling and customer care
Honor confirmed appointments or communicate promptly when a change is necessary. Set realistic notice, preparation time, hours, duration, and staff availability. Apply cancellation, deposit, refund, and no-show rules consistently and lawfully. Do not overbook or mislead customers about availability.
4. Safe, lawful, and fair service
Provide services safely, professionally, and in compliance with health, sanitation, accessibility, employment, and consumer-protection rules. Do not offer illegal, exploitative, deceptive, or unreasonably dangerous services. Do not harass or unlawfully discriminate. Contact local emergency services for immediate danger.
5. Messages and customer privacy
Use customer names, contact details, notes, messages, and client records only for the requested service, legal obligations, and legitimate follow-up. Protect your account. Do not sell customer data, add customers to unrelated marketing lists without consent, or share private information unnecessarily.
Automatic replies must be accurate and useful. They may acknowledge a message but must not impersonate a live response, make false promises, or discourage urgent safety reporting.
6. Payments, taxes, and refunds
Charge only disclosed or approved amounts. Keep payment status accurate and issue required receipts or refunds. Complete Stripe onboarding truthfully, protect payout details, and do not route transactions to evade fees, sanctions, taxes, disputes, or processor rules. You are responsible for taxes and business records.
7. Content and reviews
Upload only content you own or may use. Get permission before posting identifiable clients, staff, homes, vehicles, or private property. Do not buy misleading reviews, review yourself through another account, threaten customers over feedback, or manipulate ratings.
8. Enforcement and reporting
TownSwoop may request information, hide a listing, limit features, pause payments, or suspend or remove a provider that violates these standards, creates risk, or fails legal or processor requirements. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent removal. Report safety, fraud, impersonation, privacy, or intellectual-property concerns to admin@townswoop.com with the business name and relevant details.
